The Tech This pedal is a boost that utalizes two JFET gain stages on each channel. Internally, this pedal boosts the 9V input to 18V for extra headroom in the gain stages. I made the boards using surface mount resistors and capacitors; however, I hand-stuff the IC chips, JFET transistors, and bias potentiometers internally. I also hand-wire the jacks and similar hardware components for serviceability.
