The word vestige refers to the trace left behind by a disappearing object. The vestige delay offers a full array of controls to control the sound of the repeats on top of the traditional controls you would likely find on a delay. The vestige also has a tape-echo style preamp modeled after those found on vintage units that is separately controllable, just in case you need a touch of boost in your signal chain.
THE SOUND
- Thick, Modulated Repeats: The Vestige offers thick, tape-echo style repeats to add a pleasant depth to your sound. The controllable analog LFO allows you to add modulation to the repeats, helping you get as close as possible to the tape delay units of the '60s.
- Warm, Natural Delay: Many other delay pedals built around the PT2399 chip don’t allow for customization on delay frequencies. The Vestige Delay, however, does just this. Using the tone knob, you can make your repeats dark and warm so they blend into your playing style.
- Saturated Vintage Preamp: The Vestige comes equipped with a preamp modeled after solid-state tape echo units from the 70s and 80s. Boost your volume, saturate your tone, and add warmth to your playing by switching on the preamp boost. You’ll never want to turn it off.
FEATURES
- Control Over Modulation: With both a modulation rate and depth control, the Vestige Delay gives you the ability to switch from no modulation to an 80s-style warble to an out of control modulated sound.
- Independently-controlled Preamp: This tape-echo style preamp is extremely versatile. Set it at unity gain with a low saturation for a clean buffer, max out the saturation for a little bit of color, or bump up the volume for a saturated boost. This preamp is internally boosted to an 18v rail differential for extra high headroom, giving you that hi-fi sound, even when the delay is off.
- Repeat Tone Knob: This is what makes the Vestige Delay so special. The tone knob only controls the repeats of the delay, allowing you to change where they sit in the mix. Turn the tone knob down for a thick, subtle effect, put it in the middle for a classic, punchy delay, or turn it all the way up for a bright, in-your-face delayed tone. This feature means that no matter what role you want this delay to play, it will fit perfectly in your signal chain.
